A tour of the Volcanic Caldera, the vast underwater crater formed by the volcano's eruption in the 16th century BC, is rightfully an experience of a lifetime. Explore this unique geological phenomenon with one of the small boats that go around the caldera with the first stop at the lunar Nea Kameni where the volcano's crater is located. The continuation includes a dip in the thermal waters of the Thermal Springs from where sulfur gushes out in Palaia Kameni and a tour of Thirasia, the largest of the volcanic islands, opposite the listed settlement of Oia, which is world famous for its stunning sunset.

One of the island's hidden treasures is the prehistoric city of Akrotiri. It is considered to be one of the most important settlements of the Aegean in the Early Bronze Age (first half of the 2nd millennium BC), which was preserved in good condition until our days as the volcanic materials that completely covered the city saved entire multi-storied houses with excellent wall paintings and a multitude of artefacts. Equally close to Opalia Suites is Ancient Thira, the island's ancient capital founded in the 8th century BC. by Dorian settlers at an altitude of 369 m in Mesa Vouno, which also rewards visitors with the panoramic view it offers.
